Persistence, Passion, and Proof: A Tech Startup Story with TraqCheck

In episode 15 of Tech Startup Stories, we speak to Jaibir Nihal Singh, one of the three co-founders behind TraqCheck, a business shaking up a tired, legacy industry that had seen very little innovation for decades. The founders have a relentless persistence and product obsession, and the TraqCheck story is one of grit, experimentation, and refusing to be overlooked. It’s about three young founders going head-to-head with complexity, regulation, and resistance to change in some of the world’s most traditional enterprises.

Disrupting Established Practices

TraqCheck set out to flip an industry on its head and change an essential business process that had long been time-consuming, manual, and heavily reliant on outdated systems. Getting regulated industries to adopt a new way of doing things, however, was not easy. As Jaibir explains, early conversations often ended with a polite brush-off, and even if they could secure a meeting, they then had to prove their worth! It took time, multiple approaches, and learning how to show the right value at the right time to get noticed.

Bootstrapped, Backed by Belief

For a long time, TraqCheck operated without external funding. The team focused on building real value, often winning early clients through customer advocacy and word-of-mouth referrals. That early customer love played a key role in giving the founders the confidence to keep going. It also meant they were incredibly close to their users, which shaped the product and its evolution from the ground up.

Persistence Pays Off

As three young founders building in a traditional sector, they were not always taken seriously. But they leaned into that challenge. They kept showing up. They iterated, adapted, and most importantly, stayed laser-focused on solving a core operational pain point. Their ability to convert scepticism into trust has been critical to their success.

Flipping the Industry Model

TraqCheck’s goal isn’t to incrementally improve the system, it’s to completely rethink how the work gets done. From automation to compliance to reporting, the platform is helping large enterprises and regulated businesses move faster, with less risk and greater clarity. As Jaibir shares, once companies see the real-world results, they don’t look back.

Advice for Founders

If you're a founder building in a complex or conservative industry, here’s what the TraqCheck team would recommend:

  • Build trust before you pitch. People buy from those they believe in.

  • Let results and customer referrals drive your growth early on.

  • Don’t let a lack of funding stop you, focus on showing value.

  • Keep refining the problem, not just the product.

  • When you’re not taken seriously, keep showing up. That consistency makes the difference.
